Why men don’t dress like men anymore

I can’t help but notice that the fatter a population gets, the more blokes you see slobbing it in ill-fitting t-shirts and jeans.

Yeah, yeah, I know, correlation does not imply causation.

However.

Methinks I’m onto something.

Why?

When you’re fat, wearing nice clothes is a pain.

Shirts, jackets, ties, and trousers dig in and a slow walk is enough to make you sweatier than a soggy flannel.

I suppose you could always go out and buy a larger size, but that means facing up to just how bad things have become.

Remember: Unlike women, we gentlemen cannot rely on sizing shenanigans to obfuscate just how fat we are.

In other words…

If you used to wear 32” waist trousers and now you’re struggling to button up a 36” waist, you can’t blame the shop.

You got fat, and you know it.

My point?

You know.
