Here's more about how to learn the slowest methods for building a body that'll have you bursting with...

Pride!

If you want to get strong and in shape slowly, continue reading.

Here’s the deal:

I publish an inventively (and some might say obnoxiously) titled monthly Real Paper newsletter called:

The Phil Tyreman Letter

Each issue contains a blend of theoretical and practical advice on training (including complete programmes) based on what I’ve learned over the last fifteen or so years under the bar, as well as what I am doing right now in my own training and with private coaching clients.

It’s especially for you if you need straightforward, definitive advice to break the cycle of busting a gut to make a little progress, only to fall off the wagon and find yourself back at square one (or close to it).

But frankly anyone who is genuinely serious about getting strong and in shape will likely benefit greatly from reading it – provided you see training as a lifelong pursuit and not something you do to get “shredded for summer” and then forget about for the rest of the year.

And therein lies the “catch”.

Listen:

There are no shortcuts

No “tricks” or “hacks”. No secret Soviet programme that’ll slap 100kg on your squat in a matter of months or special supplement that’ll get you a set of abs with cuts deeper than the Grand Canyon without you having to make any sacrifices.

Perhaps you’re not yet ready to truly accept that. It’s OK if that’s the case. It took me a long time and a lot of frustration, disappointment, and outright agony chasing “New!” and “Exciting!” programmes and methods before I saw the light.

Maybe you’ll come around. Maybe you won’t. I don’t know because I can’t see the future.

But what I do know is, that unless you’re comfortable with the idea of doing heaps of the boring basics that have been proven to work time and time and time again over the last century and a half (and arguably longer), this isn’t for you.

And that’s fine.

I make no bones about the fact that while basically anyone could benefit from subscribing, only those who are willing to get their head down and do the work actually will.

But if you are one of those bold, brave, and ballsy few, just know that:

Short of standing over you and beating you about the backside with a riding crop, I could not make it easier for you to get strong and in shape

I’m literally adding to your “Training Toolbox” every single month, so pretty soon it’ll be full to overflowing with programmes, systems, and approaches for almost any situation.

Yes, even if you are spectacularly busy and struggle to find time to train consistently (I, like you, live in The Real World where jobs, hobbies, and children exist, and everything I teach is created with this in mind).

So that’s the newsletter.

But that’s not all you’re getting. Because, as a new subscriber, you will also receive a copy of my book:

Lift

Lift is the first book I wrote on fitness. Jess (my wife) insists it’s my best because it contains a no-holds-barred overview of not only my philosophy of training but also my views on diet, lifestyle, and the undeniably toxic world we find ourselves in today.

To give you some idea about how viciously I eviscerate the nonsense spewed by those who have a vested interest in keeping you fat, weak, and compliant, many of the truths I speak in Lift would likely get me banned from every major social media platform were I to post them there.

Hence why I confine them to a Real Paper book. And not just “any” Real Paper book, but one I only share with Phil Tyreman Letter subscribers (the only way to get a copy is to become a subscriber as the book isn’t and never will be for sale anywhere for any price).

Behold just a sample of what lies within:

The book ain’t all you’re getting, because, from time to time, I will gift you all sorts of bonus material in the form of books, articles, and magazines that non-subscribers will have to pay through the nose to receive (if I release them to the “general public at all)

Remember: My methods are not flashy. What’s more, they require supreme discipline and patience to bear fruit.

We are talking months before you see results you are happy with, and there are no guarantees you will make any progress at all (even if you follow my advice perfectly and put every fibre of your being into your workouts).

But if you’re OK with that, you will likely do very well as a subscriber.

Speaking of which, if you want to join us here’s:

What to do now

To recap, The Phil Tyreman Letter is a monthly Real Paper newsletter containing immediately actionable teachings that, correctly applied, will help you get strong(er) and (more) in shape.

A subscription is £20 per month and postage is free (I send the newsletters via Royal Mail Tracked 48 at my expense).

More:

You can cancel for any reason (or no reason) within the first 30 days for a full refund, so you’re not actually risking anything by giving this a shot (unless you don’t trust me to give you your money back, but if that was the case I doubt you’d still be reading…)

There is no minimum contract period, and cancelling is quick, easy, and hassle-free. I’m not going to fight to keep you aboard – if you’re not benefitting from the material, it makes no sense to force it upon you. Just keep in mind that if you do decide to cancel, you cannot resubscribe again in the future. No exceptions.

I appreciate this is a bit of an odd rule, but I’ve found it’s the best way to protect me from the headaches “quick fix” seekers invariably bring and those people from themselves.

And anyway, the fundamental truths about what it takes to get strong and in shape won’t change, and it’s perfectly possible (and I daresay “easy”, once you get the hang of it) to make massive forward strides in how you look, feel, and perform if you stick at it for long enough, as my loyal subscribers and I will continue to do with or without you.

Bottom line: Don’t subscribe unless you are ready to commit

All right, enough of this.

It’s time to decide if you want to join us or not.

If you want in, click the green button to proceed.

I’ll dispatch your copy of Lift tomorrow (unless tomorrow is a Sunday because there is no post on Sundays).

Your first newsletter will go out with the next batch.

Thank you,

Phil Tyreman

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Is there a digital version of the newsletter?

Answer: Nope, and there never will be.

Question: Why don’t you let people pause their subscriptions or re-subscribe if they cancel?

Answer: None of what I teach works unless you plug away at it for a long time without interruption, so it does neither of us any good if you keep stop-starting.

As for not letting people come back, look at it this way: If my teachings are resulting in you making steady, sustainable progress towards your fitness goals, why would you want to leave…and if they didn’t work, why would you want to come back?

Question: Why are there no testimonials on this page?

Answer: What someone else achieved cannot be used as an example of what you will achieve. Not including testimonials ensures your decision is based purely on what’s involved and what you believe you personally stand to gain from it.

Question: What support will you give me?

Answer: None. This is a print newsletter, not a coaching service (something to keep in mind if you know you won’t do anything without a babysitter). However, I do sometimes offer subscribers access to my coached offerings at a greatly reduced rate.

Question: Do you provide diet advice?

Answer: Not beyond the absolute basics (which mostly involves reminding you that you already know what you ought and ought not to eat) because I’m not qualified to offer more than that.

Question: What is your “Zero Tolerance No Drugs Policy” and why do you have it?

Answer: People who abuse steroids, TRT, and weight loss medications are always some combination of vain, lazy, and stupid, and I don’t want to do business with them as a result.

There are some who have a legitimate medical reason to take TRT or weight loss medications. They are not, in the main, vain, lazy, and stupid. However, they are too unwell for me to safely advise. I’m not saying they cannot or should not work with a personal trainer, but only on an “in person” basis due to their elevated risk of potentially quite serious illness and/or injury.

Question: Do I need a gym membership to make use of the material in the newsletter?

Answer: You will need access to a barbell and squat rack at the very minimum.

Most will need to join a gym for that, unless you have the space and will to shell out a couple of grand for a proper rack, bar, and plates.

Moreover, training in a gym has plenty of other advantages (access to a variety of weightlifting machines, forcing you to carve out time to train, etc) that are hard, if not impossible to replicate when training at home, so if you want my opinion (and I don’t see why you wouldn’t if you’ve read this far) you’re probably better off biting the bullet and getting a gym membership if you don’t already have one.

Question: How quickly will I get results?

Answer: Not very.

You are looking at many months of disciplined, patient effort at the bare minimum before you start seeing results you’re happy with and even longer than that to get to the point you can keep them without fuss or hassle.

If that’s a problem, I cannot help you.

Question: Can I get past issues of the newsletter?

Answer: Sometimes (not often) I sell back issues for whatever price I was charging at the time they went to print.

Question: I have a question you have not yet answered, where can I get more information?

Answer: Email me, and I shall respond personally and promptly. My address is phil at philtyreman dot co dot uk.
