Why I won’t associate with PED heads

Jess and I often discuss our family values, and how we live them out in our day to day.

One example of this is in my zero tolerance “no drugs” policy.

It costs us a lot of business because performance enhancing drug abuse is frighteningly common among men in their 30s, 40s, and 50s. So I have to turn down a lot of enquiries on that basis.

This prompted Jess to ask:

“Would you work with someone who agreed to stop taking PEDs?”

My answer?

No.

Here’s why:

Drugs can have all sorts of weird and wonderful effects on the body. Hence, stopping taking them sometimes carries risks.

Many of those risks – where they exist – are well understood and can be managed by appropriately qualified medical professionals.

Not so much the case with drugs you’ve procured illegally (as you can never really be sure of what exactly you’re taking) and are dosing based on what you’ve read online or under the guidance of some quack “coach”.

Then there are the long term effects that steroids have on the body. Some of which we are aware of but the paucity of data on abuse by men for aesthetic purposes would suggest to me that there are many we are not.

Those are just a few of the reasons why I won’t have anything to do with anyone who takes, has taken, or wants to take steroids or other PEDs.

One last thing:

If you partake of the fruit of Johnny Juicehead’s bathtub, none of this should be taken as advice to stop sticking needles in your backside. (A doctor is the only person you should consult about getting clean, in my opinion).

Anyway, it’s selling time:

April’s issue of The Phil Tyreman Letter includes a system called “Operation: Beach Body” that you can use to build a physique that looks every bit as good as it performs in preparation for the summer.

It’s a 12-week programme revolving around the most efficient and effective lifts for building strength and power, supplemented by plenty of arm, trap, and ab work because nobody argues with a man who has a thick neck, huge arms, and a strong midsection.

A subscription works out at £3.29 per day, which just about anyone can afford if they want to.

That doesn’t mean you should subscribe.

And you certainly shouldn’t subscribe if you have taken, take, or are thinking about taking PEDs. (Because I’ll find out eventually and, when I do, I’ll just cancel your subscription).
