“How to build a powerful physqiue”
Was the headline of the sales page for my flagship offer and beating heart of my business, The Phil Tyreman Letter.
Spot the typo?
I was first alerted to this by a friend and mentor yesterday evening and thought it was due to some changes I’d made to the page earlier on.
Turns out I was wrong.
A flick through archived versions of the page shows the typo has been there from the very beginning.
How very embarrassing.
Especially given The Phil Tyreman Letter is a (very expensive) paper-and-ink newsletter, so having a raging typo in the headline of the sales page is not a good look.
No matter.
Everybody makes mistakes, so it’s how we respond to them that counts.
In this instance, I’m going to make sure Jess reads all of my sales pages (she already proofs my books and newsletters) before I publish. No exceptions.
(See, male feminists? She does have her uses beyond cooking my food and bearing my children).
Believe it or not, this message is more than a thinly veiled excuse to get you to visit the improved sales page for The Phil Tyreman Letter and, potentially, subscribe. Because there is, in fact, a training-related lesson.
Here it is:
You’re going to mess up. Probably more often than you would like and probably very seriously on some occasions.
Missing a bunch of workouts because you can’t be bothered.
Lifting with your ego instead of your brain and doing yourself a serious mischief.
Following some nonsense programme you found online because it was “new” and “exciting”.
And so on.
Goodness knows I’ve done some unfathomably stupid things in my time. (Like when I decided it was a good idea to do decline bench press lockouts with 220kg and almost ground my wrists into raspberry jam).
The key is to recognise it and take immediate and decisive action to get back on track.
Easier said than done, given admitting you were wrong requires a degree of humility most cannot muster.
But it is, unfortunately, the only way.
And on that note, if you would like to subscribe to The Phil Tyreman Letter, the link to the (hopefully, major typo-free) sales page is below.
A subscription is certainly not for you if you struggle to admit your mistakes or believe you know everything.
