My spies tell me that the fact my prestigious podcast has just 6 subscribers (at the time of writing) is a source of great amusement to my detractors.
Like a gaggle of perilously insecure schoolgirls, they giggle away as I churn out content week in, week out that basically nobody listens to.
Why?
The idea of doing The Right Thing to the very best of your ability, with no expectation of return is beyond their diminutive intellects.
For me, right now, that is recording a simple podcast once per week to serve those who want to get to know me a little better before purchasing something.
Seldom does much purchasing happen as a result of the podcast at the moment, given my miniscule audience.
But, maybe, in time, that will change.
Or maybe it won’t.
I don’t worry about it either way because I cannot control the outcome – only my inputs.
So it is with your training.
The less you care about your results, the more likely you are to attain them – if my experience and the experience of clients and customers is anything to go by (which I believe it is).
Because, when doing the things you need to do and doing them well doesn’t bear fruit (and it won’t, much of the time) you’re far and away less likely to programme hop or even throw your toys out the pram and quit altogether.
This especially applies to those times when you are run ragged by work, family (especially kiddos), and the legion of responsibilities that are part and parcel of being an adult.
I shall not sugarcoat it. If you are Very Busy getting strong and in shape is beyond difficult.
You have to fight tooth and nail for the most meagre of progress and vicious traps litter your path waiting to steal everything you have hitherto broken your back to gain.
Enter my book, “Shift” which explains exactly how to train efficiently and effectively when you are up against it.
