Introducing the robust, flexible system for building a powerful physique even if you don't see sunlight for days or work so many hours it should probably be...

ILLEGAL!

“The bad news is, if you work shifts then you’ve a snowball’s chance in hell of getting a body like a champion bodybuilder or the strength of an elite powerlifter.”

“The good news is, you can not only get strong and in shape but also go a long ways to mitigating the serious risk of sickness and early death associated with shift work…

… IF you have the right tools

… and IF you have the will to use them.”

Dear Friend,

If shift work is making you struggle to build a strong, lean, and healthy physique…. your day just got a whole lot better.

Here is why: I’ve written a book containing a suite of tactics and ideas you can use to sustainably build strength and muscle even when your body clock has taken such a battering you don’t know exactly what day it is.

Those who don’t work shifts but lead hectic and unpredictable lives for other reasons (for example, having young children or running a business) may also benefit enormously from the material.

Either way, I urge you to read this letter carefully to make sure your decision to purchase is an informed one.

The book is inventively titled:

Shift

It is, to my knowledge, the only book of its kind on the market.

It’s also very expensive and there are no refunds aside from those I am obliged to offer by law.

So if you’re not willing to a) actually read the book and b) at least try  some of the straightforward solutions within, this is not for you and my advice is to close this window now and carry on with your day.

Otherwise, we continue:

Who is this book for?

Shift is for people who are serious about their training. They’ve been at it for at least a year but are are frustrated because:

  1. They can’t get results at all, no matter how hard they try, or,
  2. They can get results, but find they lose them very quickly due to their irregular schedule

Shift work is often the culprit (hence the title), although the plethora of demands that come with being a father or working a demanding job of any kind causes the same problems.

I know this because I’ve trained through all three.

I spent the first five or so years of my working life under the cosh of an insane yet perfectly legal rota (two years on placement as an unpaid undergraduate student where I was definitely working way more hours than the legal maximum, but this was my own free choice) and three-and-a-bit years as a substantive employee.

Subsequently, I’ve run my own businesses (some more successful than others), and sired two wonderful children.

So, what I’m saying is, I know how frustrating it is to work really hard yet have very little to show for it because you’re permanently jet-lagged through no fault of your own.

I’ve used this experience to devise some elegant solutions, all products of a decade and a half of training week in week out whatever life threw at me.

These solutions are compiled and presented to you in Shift, and…

Here’s what you will discover…

Let’s pause for a moment soI can expand on that last point.

It’s important you understand that Shift is not a “paint-by-numbers” guide. Meaning, if you’re expecting to be spoon-fed, you will be sorely disappointed.

Yes, this book contains everything you need to overcome the challenges that are part and parcel of having an irregular schedule.

However, everybody’s schedule is different, so it would be impossible for me to provide definitive advice to cover every conceivable circumstance.

And even if it was possible, I still wouldn’t because it wouldn’t do you any good.

Why?

Getting reliable, predictable, sustainable results requires you to overcome your own challenges by taking information from reputable sources and applying critical thinking.

It’s the only way.

Anything else is by definition a cookie-cutter solution that will fail the moment you’re faced with something out of the ordinary.

And, as a shift worker or, possibly, a man who lives a very unpredictable life for other reasons, “out of the ordinary” is the status quo.

Now for some more of what you’ll find inside your copy of Shift:

Okie dokie, that’s a summary of what you get.

All killer with no filler whatsoever, the book clocks in at a shade over 14,000 words.

It can only be fairly described as a “short” book, but I’ve written it this way to enable you to consume the material in one or two sittings, so you can start applying it right away.

I know its conciseness will put off people who measure value by weight and volume of “stuff”, although I can’t say I’m especially upset by that because experience tells me these types never actually DO anything with what they learn.

Anyway.

You can get a copy of Shift for £175.

This is a Real Book printed on Real Paper and no electronic version exists or will ever exist anywhere for any price.

It’s only available for sale in the UK, and international orders are not accepted under any circumstances.

Delivery is via Royal Mail Tracked 48 at my expense. (I’ll email you the tracking number once I’ve posted it).

Please also take note that there are no refunds (unless you are entitled to one by law) or guarantees of any kind.

Frequently Asked Questions

If only I knew.

There are so many variables when it comes to shift work (or leading a hectic life in general) that it’d downright wrong of me to promise you anything.

That said, the material in the book is geared towards getting you stronger and in-shaperer, so if you do as instructed and apply critical thinking when needed, there’s a chance that will happen.

Just don’t expect to be blown away.

There is a hard ceiling on the results you will get from training and eating right when you are busy and stressed.

The ceiling is likely higher than you might think it is, but rest assured it is there and you will hit it eventually.

If my honesty offends you, don’t buy the book and go darken the door of one of the many charlatans who think nothing of making you promises they cannot keep.

Four reasons:

  1. Someone else getting a result is no guarantee you will get anything like the same.
  2. Lighting and other photographical shenanigans make it easy for results to appear better than they are in real life.
  3. Looking a certain way on a certain day for a picture tells you nothing about whether those results are sustainable in the long term (which is what you actually want).
  4. Posting posed, partially clothed pictures on the internet is degenerate.

Maybe.

Although not written specifically for them, the teachings are useful for men who have an unpredictable schedule for reasons other than shift work.

For example, those who run their own businesses or have young children.

If that is you then I recommend you read the sales letter carefully to make sure your decision to purchase is a properly informed one.

For best results, you will need access to a gym with a squat rack and olympic bar.

Unless you are fortunate enough to have a sizeable home gym, this requires a gym membership.

You could potentially do bodyweight and/or dumbbell variations of the lifts (you may still choose to do so for some of them, even with access to an olympic bar), but I’d be lying if I said doing these exclusively is anywhere near as efficient or effective.

No.

I am not qualified to give prescriptive advice in this arena because I am not a registered dietitian.

Hence, the dietary advice in the book amounts to “common sense”.

It’s my experience that a tap about the head with the obvious is often what’s needed to get people back on track. Although I understand that some people believe the usual rules don’t apply to them because they are “special”.

If that is you, please don’t buy. You will certainly be disappointed.

Maybe.

Though I would question your need for it, if you are as fit as you claim you are — given you must have a system that works well for you despite the challenges posed by your routine.

It could also be that your self-perception is not aligned with reality.

If so, you could find the material in “Shift” very useful, provided you possess the humility to accept that you do not, in fact, know everything about training.

Otherwise, give it a miss.

Potentially.

The answer ultimately depends on why you’ve not trained in a long time (or ever).

If it’s because of a health condition and/or injury you need to go see an appropriately qualified medical professional and follow their advice.

If it’s because you’re a lazy so-and-so and you’re ready to not only admit that but do something about it then this book could be just the thing you need.

Tell me via email (phil at philtyreman dot co dot uk) and return the book within 14 days of receiving the book, and I will issue a refund.

You have to cover the cost of posting the book back to me.

After that, there are no refunds.
