Stop being so damn lazy

You’ve probably heard it’s possible to get lean without doing any cardio whatsoever.

And, well, you can… but that doesn’t mean you should try.

Let me explain: In the fitness industry, you can make a lot of money by promising extraordinary transformational outcomes for very little or, ideally, no work.

“Get lean with no cardio” is a classic example of this. After all, no sane person enjoys cardio. They enjoy the challenge and the results, sure, but the actual act itself? Not so much.

So, if you tell people they can get what they want (a six-pack), without doing what they hate (jogging), you’ll quickly build an audience who are willing to fork out wads of cash for the “secret”.

Hence, dumb ideas like the above gain significant traction and popularity.

That’s right, I said it’s a dumb idea. Actually, it’s downright stupid and words cannot express the ire I feel towards so-called fitness “professionals” who promote it because they’re setting people up for a world of pain, frustration, and failure.

Here’s why: Everybody knows the only way to lose body fat is to ingest less energy than you expend.

Ergo, you will lose weight if you cut your food intake enough – irrespective of whether or not you go running or whatever.

So far, so obvious.

And yet, there’s a problem.

You see, despite claims to the contrary, the energy expenditure of the body is not constant. Indeed, studies have shown the body adapts to its new, less blubbery form by burning fewer calories.

In simple terms this means the lighter you get, the more food you have to cut to lose each additional kilo.

The result?

You make a small amount of progress in the first couple of weeks until it all stops stone dead. Your only option to get things moving again is to slash your food intake even further… which makes you even more hungry and miserable.

Worse, your energy levels tank which makes lifting weights a soul-sucking experience. And, as you’re training on an empty gas tank, setting new personal bests becomes a pipe dream as you fight tooth and nail just to maintain your strength levels…

In the end, the “diet” becomes intolerable. You quit, and all the fat you suffered through so much to lose piles back on with a vengeance.

Sound familiar?

You are not alone, and you’ll be pleased to know there is a solution.

It’s not an easy solution by any stretch of the imagination. But it is perhaps the most efficient and effective way to lose fat (and keep it off).

You’ll find this (and more) inside The Phil Tyreman Letter.

It’s my (to my knowledge) one-of-a-kind monthly printed newsletter, The Phil Tyreman Letter.

P.S. Unfortunate truth: I trained for years but couldn’t get lean despite lifting upwards of five times per week because I stubbornly refused to do any cardio.

Can you guess what happened when I finally caved and started moving my bloated backside?

Yup. I got the abs of my dreams… and… I did it while eating a tonne of wholesome, nutritious food.

Winner winner chicken dinner.
