My “mean” treatment for accountability allergies

It’s no secret I have somewhat of a reputation for being “mean”.

Why is this?

Mostly because I am fond of this thing called “personal responsibility” and won’t engage with, let alone train anyone who is unwilling to shoulder it.

Perhaps an odd way of operating a fitness business. After all, there is an awfully large market of people who are gagging to pay someone to pretend their profound lack of discipline around training, eating, and suchlike is everyone else’s fault.

Yet even though there is potentially much money to be made in catering to these types, it is a role I am more than happy to let other PTs fill.

Reason being, having an accountability allergy is always associated with a host of behavioural problems such as price shopping, paying late (or not paying at all), general rudeness, missing sessions, and putting in no effort unless someone is threatening to beat them with a riding crop.

Then when they don’t get results (because they don’t apply themselves in any meaningful way), they blame the PT – often screwing with their business by leaving defamatory reviews, filing chargebacks, among other nefarious deeds.

My point?

There isn’t one, other than to curate my list by triggering those who are unwilling to accept they are at least part of the problem to unsubscribe.

The link is in the footer if that is you.

If that is not you, there’s a chance you’re the type of person who will benefit from working with me personally and privately by becoming a Phil Tyreman Letter subscriber.

But the only way to know for sure is to carefully read all of this:
