Spend enough time around fitness content on the internet, and you’ll notice a pattern.
You’ll see question after question after question:
What’s the optimum number of sets in a workout?
Which diet is best?
Is it better to train first thing in the morning or in the evening?
Etc. Etc. Etc.
Almost to a man, these poor souls are victims of something called “information bias”.
That is, the tendency to seek more and more information about a topic, even when that information has no bearing whatsoever on real-world actions.
See, my comprehensive experience tells me that most of the people asking these questions do nothing with what they learn. Indeed, they’d be much better off investing their time and energy in lifting weights, going for a run, eating sensibly, and getting enough sleep – instead of fretting over minutiae and consuming more and more content.
And while we’re on the subject of consuming ever-increasing quantities of fitness content, when was the last time you made significant progress towards your fitness goals?
If your honest answer is along the lines of “some time ago”, then, politely, at some point you have to take action.
Why?
The reason you’re not making progress isn’t a lack of information. It’s a lack of implementation.
Something is stopping you from consistently doing the things you need to do to get into shape. And, regrettably, it’s unlikely you’ll find the solution you need for free online. Because, if you could, you’d have solved whatever problem you have already.
So, you need some help. A coach. Obviously, I’d prefer that coach to be me because I’m in business to make money, but if there’s someone else out there you think is better then go work with them instead.
The choice is and always will be yours – and you are free to choose to do whatever you like.
But make no mistake, you are not free from the consequences of your decisions.
That being said, my coaching programme is eye-wateringly expensive and most lack the means or the will to pay for it.
That’s why I also offer The Phil Tyreman Letter. It’s a printed monthly newsletter (there is NO electronic version) and subscribers get virtually unlimited email support for questions, advice, etc.
It’s still expensive, but not prohibitively so, and you still get private access to me albeit via email rather than face to face.

P.S. To be clear: I’m not saying you shouldn’t try to learn more about training, dieting, and whatnot.
What you have to be careful of, is letting your learning get out of hand to the point that you’re sitting on some forum at 2 o’clock in the morning reading a debate about the relative benefits of sarcoplasmic and myofibrillar hypertrophy between two random dudes who live in their mothers’ basements.
Anyway, if you want a reliable source of quality information then The Phil Tyreman Letter might just be for you.
