Something I know a lot of men struggle with is the terrible impact having a baby or young kiddos has on their sleep.
Even if you are fortunate enough to be blessed with cherubim who sleep through the night, as I am, your sleep is never quite as restful again. (If you disbelieve me, consider how much more rested you feel after a “child free” night).
The ramifications on training are obvious.
Progress stalls, injuries mount, and the results you have worked so very hard to gain start to slip away.
It’s enough to make many throw in the towel if my bountiful experience is anything to go by.
Fortunately (for me) Yours Baldly was well prepared for this when Constance arrived on the scene.
How?
Working shift rotas that smashed my body clock to bits, set fire to the remains, and tossed the ashes into the mariana trench.
So all I had to do to keep my training ticking along (albeit at a much slower pace) was revert to what I did back then.
Can’t say I wanted to employ some of those methods, but I didn’t have a choice because continuing to train like “normal” on very little sleep while also trying to pilot a business through the government-induced poopstorm that was 2020/21 would have ruined me.
Anyway.
If you are running on fumes for whatever reason, you may find the material in my book “Shift” very useful indeed.
The book is on sale for a bonkers discount until 23:59 tonight (13th).
If you’d like to purchase a copy, read the page below (to make sure your decision is an informed one), enter the code GREEN at the checkout (be sure to see the price drop before proceeding), and wait calmly for the book to arrive (in 2-3 business days, Royal Mail willing):
