Can’t cure lazy

Few weeks back, I took a call with a guy who said he was interested in becoming a client.

Alas, it became apparent very quickly that a partnership would be a waste of time for all involved.

Why?

Guy’s lazy.

His is a typical tale.

Thirty-something with an admirable career, nice house, wife, and, now, his first kiddo due to arrive shortly (the latter being why he contacted me).

“He doesn’t sound lazy, Phil.”

Cometh the obvious retort.

But here’s the thing: It’s not that he’s short on time or resources – he has both aplenty.

So, ever the ethical salesman, I asked him why he’d done the square root of naff all to keep himself in good shape for the last ten years or so.

The response?

“I just don’t have the motivation.”

Oh, dear.

There ain’t nothing I or any other fitness professional with a shred of integrity can do to help someone who utters this fateful phrase.

For sure, these slothful sorts are more than happy to pay a pretty penny for “accountability”, and there are plenty of PTs who will take that cash with a smile in exchange for what amounts to a rent-a-friend service (it matters not whether it’s in-person or online, nothing of consequence is achieved via these arrangements).

But Yours Baldly?

Nah.

Do Not Want.

Enough.

Today’s pitch has nothing and everything to do with what I’ve just shared with you.

October’s (20-page King Sized) issue of “The Phil Tyreman Letter” has very little to do with training per se (although I have still squeezed a programme in there for you to study, adapt, and benefit from).

Instead, it’s all about creating the right environment for success.

Specifically, my method for balancing training, working, serving, resting, and relaxing.

Essential ingredients one and all – if you are interested in not only training for a long time, but also getting consistent results from all the hard work you are putting in.
