A chap whom I respect greatly challenged me on LinkedIn a couple of weeks back by saying, in a roundabout way, that I don’t teach anything that isn’t already well known.
He is correct.
You can find everything I teach for free online or in books that are much cheaper than mine.
I don’t have a “secret method” nor do I know of any tricks or hacks to get you to your goals without investing at least months and, usually, years of diligent, patient effort.
So why bother paying me?
A couple of reasons:
Firstly, even though everything I teach is widely available for free or otherwise inexpensively, it’s self-evident that most people aren’t acting upon that information for one reason or another. Because, if they were, we wouldn’t be in the midst of a spiralling obesity epidemic and your local gym would be packed to the rafters with people hitting the big, compound lifts with intent instead of slobbing about on machines staring at their phones as is the case currently.
I believe this is the case because people are far more likely to use something that is, while affordable for most, still a considerable chunk of change. (That’s partly why I charge what I do).
Secondly, while the substance of my methods isn’t unique, my manner of delivery certainly is. And, I have been told time and time again by both men and women of varying backgrounds, experiences, and preferences that my informative and entertaining style helps them greatly in the application of what they have learned.
None of this is to say everyone enjoys my style. The hate mail I get on a near-daily basis from people who don’t like some combination of what I’m saying or how I’m saying it is proof of that.
Anyway.
No obvious fitness lesson today.
There is one in there, but you’ll have to do a little thinking to figure it out.
In any case, this email is primarily a bare-faced sales pitch for why you ought to work with me, if you have a fitness problem or problems I can solve and you believe I am the man for the job.
One option you’ve got is the cleverly titled “The Phil Tyreman Letter”.
It’s a monthly printed newsletter (on Real Paper, no less) that comes with “virtually unlimited” support from me, personally – plus other bonuses and doohickeys on occasion.
August’s issue is all about strength training, so there has never been a better time to join if you are interested in lifting weights that demand attention.
You’ll find all the info at the link below.
Please read both pages carefully and, if after doing that you want in, subscribe:
