Behold how to get strong and in shape:
1) Do some form of resistance training twice or thrice weekly (weights, bodyweight, or, ideally, a blend of the two),
2) Do some form of “hard” cardio twice or thrice weekly (hard being a relative term, as what you find challenging will differ greatly from what most anyone else finds challenging), and,
3) Walk every day without fail for at least thirty minutes (you have the time, stop pretending you don’t).
4) Pay a modicum of attention to your diet (i.e. eat more of what you already know you ought to eat and less of what you already know you shouldn’t while being mindful of portion sizes).
If you have honestly been doing the above for more than six months or so and you’ve not seen any meaningful progress, experience tells me that:
A) There’s an issue with how you’ve set things up, or,
B) You haven’t been hitting all four points consistently (itself an issue with how you’ve set things up).
The only exception is when your problems are caused by a fundamental flaw in your character. Perhaps you can’t stick at anything (i.e. not just training) for more than five minutes or you’re a perpetual victim who believes everything bad in your life is the fault of someone else.
If that’s you, then it’s not something any third party short of a clinical psychologist or doctor can help you with.
However.
If you’re struggling to get anywhere… or… you’re heading in generally the right direction but you keep falling off the wagon for various reasons… and… you don’t have “character flaws” like those I have just described, one remedy is to become one of my Phil Tyreman Letter subscribers, because I will furnish you with the info and advice you need to get things right and keep getting things right for long enough to get the results you want.
Bottom line, it’s for you if you don’t want to squander your precious time by extending what is already an exceptionally slow and lengthy process (because getting strong and in shape IS slow going if you want results you can easily maintain and subsequently build upon).
