Forgive me for being a braggart, but I can’t help but feel proud of just how easy I find running these days.
As I write this, I’ve not long finished a one and a half miler (I walked out then ran home) and, last night, I managed a brisk four miles without any difficulty whatsoever.
Hardly staggering feats of athleticism, I’ll admit.
However.
For many years, I languished with terrible cardiovascular fitness – like many weightlifters.
The irony?
I believed my cardio was “good” because I could do Grace in a shade over three minutes (that’s the CrossFit workout where you have to do 30 reps of clean and presses and/or jerks with 60kg as quickly as possible) – but I could barely run a mile!
Here’s the thing: High intensity cardio (HIIT, sprints, and so on) is great. In fact, I believe it ought to be a firm fixture in everyone’s training programme provided they are healthy enough to manage it.
But – and it’s a big “but” – it’s no substitute for plain old steady state cardio, the most effective form of which is running, in my humble (and demonstrably correct) opinion.
If you care about actually being healthy, rather than simply looking healthy.
I shall momentarily dismount my soapbox, but before I do, I want to let you know about “The Running Starter Kit”.
This 8 A4 page report contains a complete system for taking you from not running at all to running respectable distances multiple times per week.
Ideal for the man with a gut who would like rid of it and the man who knows he needs to give his ticker some TLC lest he be taken up to join the cloud of witnesses before his time.
It’s £6.50 which I think is very cheap. You may disagree, as is your sovereign right.
If I’ve piqued your interest, there are two important points to note before proceeding:
1) I am printing the reports to order on my personal printer using regular printer paper. An attractive document this is not, so please don’t buy it if you’re more concerned with how it looks than what it contains.
2) There are no refunds or guarantees beyond the 14 days on receipt of goods I’m obliged to give to comply with consumer protection legislation.

Thank you,

P.S. Do not purchase “The Running Starter Kit” if you own either “The Conditioning Codex” or March’s issue of “The Phil Tyreman Letter” (where it was given as a bonus) because you’ll be paying for the same information twice.
