Client of mine who shall remain nameless was shocked when I told him a famous bodybuilder from the 1970s was a steroid abuser.
The name of the bodybuilder is not important because basically all professional bodybuilders take steroids, unless they are competing in explicitly “natural” federations (but even some of them are on the sauce, and plenty more have used in the past).
Believe it or not, I understand his surprise.
You have to remember, steroids are Very Illegal in many countries, and few countries are as lackadaisical about it as we are.
Not to mention the likely loss of the sponsorships many bodybuilders require to keep themselves fed, housed, and drugged up that would occur if they admitted their habit to the masses.
Hence, it’s all very cloak and dagger which leads those who are not as plugged into the fitness world as Yours Baldly to think it’s possible for a 5’7” guy to walk around ripped to the bone with veins upon veins weighing over 200lbs naturally.
A great problem if you use these chaps as your measuring stick for how well (or not well) you are doing.
An even greater problem if you try and emulate their training methodologies, given how profoundly even a small amount of gear changes your bodies response to and capacity for training.
Grave and, potentially, life-limiting injury is all that awaits you at the end of that sordid path.
Much better, then, to train as men did before steroids exploded onto the scene.
Such as in the manner I will teach you on my three month programme, “Silver Era Secrets”.
