What is a “powerful physique”?

Nowadays, objective standards are met with derision.

Why?

They prove that some people are simply better than others, and this makes the large swathes of the population who are too lazy to improve themselves deeply uncomfortable.

Let’s use training as a relevant, illustrative example.

My thing is teaching men how to build a powerful physique.

But what is a “powerful physique”?

Well, as you might expect from the introduction, I use a set of objective measurements to define who (and who does not) make the cut.

My standards are:

Barbell back squat – 1.75x bodyweight

Barbell bench press  – 1.25x bodyweight

Barbell deadlift – 2x bodyweight

Barbell overhead press (standing) – 1x bodyweight

Bodyweight pullups (any grip) – 15

Bodyweight dips – 25

One mile run – 7 minutes

Three mile run – 23 minutes

I think these are achievable for men who are in good health.

Not “easy” by any stretch of the imagination, but eminently possible with diligent training.

And I think you’d be hard-pressed to argue a man who can do all of the above doesn’t possess a powerful physique as he will be strong and lean with respectable cardiovascular fitness. (Many men can manage one or two of these simultaneously, but a man who has all three is a rare commodity indeed).

So.

If you would like to build (and maintain) a powerful physique according to the above criteria, let’s talk.

My diary is once again open for private calls. (For a limited time).

However, I need to filter those who simply want to pick my large and shapely brain from those who recognise they need help but aren’t sure if I’m the man for the job.

To that end, I charge £150 for an hour.

You’ll get that back if I decide I can’t help you or we agree to work together.

I think this is fair, but only you can decide if that’s the case from your perspective.

If you’d like to talk, reply to this email with your name using the subject line CALL, and I’ll send you an invoice.

Once paid, I’ll send you a link to my calendar wherein you can book a time to suit.

Thank you,

Phil Tyreman
