What I eat in a day

Because people keep asking…

===

Breakfast:

* Generous portion of meat, fish, and/or fowl (including eggs)

* Vegetables

Lunch:

Same as breakfast

Dinner:

Same as lunch

Additionally, every three days or so I’ll have a starchy meal (either pasta or I’ll get Jess to make me a pizza) to prevent flatness (in terms of both energy and aesthetics).

===

That’s it.

My way of eating is loosely based on Vince Gironda’s “Maximum Definition Diet”.

The key differences being that I eat vegetables because I enjoy going to the lavatory regularly and don’t take any of the litany of supplements Vince prescribed because I don’t fancy swallowing enough pills to fill a small pharmacy.

I cannot say I have found a more effective “diet” in the decade and a half or so that I have been training. Rarely do I ever feel hungry, it’s utterly unobtrusive, with no calorie counting, macro tracking, or even meal planning involved (I literally throw whatever combination of animals takes my fancy into our cast iron pan along with the veggies and eggs if I am having them), and, of course, it keeps me lean.

That said.

You must keep in mind that I am not a diet guy, nor am I qualified to give prescriptive dietary advice (no personal trainer is, unless they are also a registered dietitian), so I am not saying you should necessarily emulate my approach.

At least not without doing your own research, in consultation with an appropriately qualified professional if appropriate, to determine the right way to eat for your personal needs and aspirations.

Speaking of doing your own research, today I’ve a small gift for you in the form of a digital copy of the September 2024 issue of The Phil Tyreman Letter.

The subject is getting strong(er) and inside you will find a complete programme based on the methods of Reg Park (mentor to Arnold Schwarzenegger) you can use to slap some plates on ye olde bar.

To get a copy, just email me the word LETTER (my address is phil at philtyreman dot co dot uk) and I’ll send you over the PDF.

Thank you,

Phil Tyreman
