Behold a tidbit of advice (part of a much larger chain of emails) I sent to a client the other day:
===
“Thinking in terms of months rather than weeks gets you into the habit of long term thinking about training. It’s a subtle shift in language that has a profound impact, in my experience.”
===
Translation:
The longer view you take on training, the better your results will be.
These days, I rarely set goals that I anticipate will take fewer than six months to achieve, with most taking a year or two to come to fruition.
That said, I am not so lacking in empathy that I can’t understand this is too much of a thinking shift for people who follow modern programming methods or are new to training.
It’s for this reason I generally recommend a gentle introduction to true long-term thinking by using calendar months to block out training, rather than the conventional 4, 6, 8, or 12 week cycles.
This approach was quite common back in the good old days (before colour televisions were a common sight in households) when prominent personalities promoted training as a holistic life-enhancer rather than something to be optimised to the Nth degree, slaved away at, and bragged about to their unthinking horde of social media followers.
Appropriately, my programme, “Silver Era Secrets” is three months long (as opposed to, say, 12 weeks) because it’s very important to me that you finish having made training a fixed, firm, and unobtrusive part of your life – and an appreciation for long-term thinking is a non-negotiable part of that.
You will find all the information about the programme on the below-linked sales page.
I must also warn you that the price is going up in a handful of days (the deadline is Wednesday the 8th at 23:59).
But don’t let the imminent deadline prevent you from examining the information closely, to make sure the offer is right for you:
