Some people just love their misery, I guess

Here is something that confuses me greatly:

When people recognise they have a problem that is causing them material difficulty in some aspect of their lives, yet refuse to take meaningful steps to alleviate that problem when they are perfectly capable of doing so

It actually confuses me so much I simply can’t relate to them at all.

Some context:

I have PTSD from my time in the ambulance service.

It has and continues to cause problems in my day to day life.

Consequently, I pay to see a clinical psychologist once a month or thereabouts because, without this input, I’d struggle.

Sure, I could go down the NHS route. Sitting on a long waiting list for some group therapy while, probably, downing a cocktail of antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds to mask the symptoms.

But for the sake of £100 per month – which works out at £3.29 per day, less than the price of a large latte at Costa, apparently – I get to work with an eminent clinician in private, who uses her bountiful knowledge and experience to give me the tools I need to be the man my family and clients deserve, despite my challenges.

Incidentally, £100 per month is precisely what you’ll pay to become a subscriber of The Phil Tyreman Letter – a subscription that includes private access to me via text, email, and voice note for whenever you like for assistance with whatever you need (provided I’m qualified to help with your query).

At least that’s all you’ll pay if you subscribe before the 23:59 on Sunday 28th of April deadline.

After that the price goes up substantially.

If you’re interested, read the below linked page very carefully – so your decision to subscribe is a fully informed one:
