Recently, I started using a highly efficient and stunningly effective method for getting (and staying) in shape, even when very busy.
It’s a method I last used almost a decade ago when I was working a borderline illegal shift pattern in the ambulance service.
Why bring it back?
Two reasons:
- The method features in my new book (more on that in the New Year), and I would never ask anyone to do something I’m not prepared to do myself. And,
- It really is a fantastic way to get lean because it requires no skill and only a tiny amount of forethought and planning.
And the method is…
Ah, that’d be telling. If you want to find out, you’ll have to buy the book when it’s released.
The method isn’t the point of the email, anyway.
Today’s lesson is far simpler and, arguably, more profound.
We’re fast approaching the New Year.
In fitness-land, it’s a time when many people are on the hunt for the next shiny object to (hopefully) catapult them towards their goals.
I’m sure a few of them will find something that works. Most won’t, though and of those a minority will quit and the rest will stagger about directionless until they see the glint of the next shiny object appear in the tall grass.
I suggest a different approach:
Look to the past.
I’ll bet at some point something you did got you great results… so…
… why not just do that thing?
I concede it’s not New and Exciting by definition, but the stuff that actually works seldom is.
One place you’ll certainly never find anything new or exciting is The Phil Tyreman Letter.
Instead, you’ll get proven strategies and tactics to help you build a powerful physique printed on Real Paper and delivered to your door once a month. (Plus access to me whenever you need it via email and other goodies).

P.S. I’ve set up a new Facebook group for men in my local area. It’s called East Yorkshire Men’s Fitness Mastermind.
This group is my way of “giving something back”. By that I mean, it’s not a marketing tool for my business per se. I expect some people who join will become clients/customers, but that’s not why I started the group. I did it because there’s a paucity of resources for hardworking men generally and nothing locally, so I figured I might as well do something about it.
If you wouldn’t mind joining to help me bump up the numbers, I’d appreciate it. (I need people to do this because nobody wants to join a Facebook group with barely any members).
To show my thanks, you’ll get an invite to a live Q&A I’m going to hold sometime between Christmas and New Year (date TBC).
Joining is free and takes seconds.
Here’s the group:
