Rules for thee but not for me?

Behold my hypocrisy:

One thing I beat into my clients’ skulls with a rusty golf-club is the importance of logging and tracking their workouts.

(To the point that I refuse to offer any specific advice on their training unless they can prove to me they’re doing it).

Why?

If you don’t track, you don’t progress.

It really is that simple.

However.

Yours Baldy does not track and has not meaningfully tracked in years.

Is this simply a case of rules for thee but nor for me?

Not quite.

See, I’ve been training so long and so consistently, I’ve earned the right not to log my training in any great detail. (Or at all, as is the case currently).

By that I mean I’m happy with where my physique and performance are at, and, while there’s probably some room for improvement, I’m so close to my genetic potential that the effort involved in releasing those marginal gains simply isn’t worth it.

A point few reach because it takes around a decade of diligent work, but once you’re here it’s really rather nice.

Certainly something to aspire to – if you have the patience.

But don’t let your patience get in the way of subscribing to The Phil Tyreman Letter because the price increases substantially after 23:59 on Sunday the 28th of April.

You will never have the opportunity to work with me at this price point ever again.
