Once subscribed, you will also get a copy of Phil’s eBook “How to Build Muscle and Strength Slowly”

Potentially why nothing you try works

If you’re interested in getting stronger and more in shape, you’re going to have to put more weight on the bar at some point.

Woah.

Truly, a profound revelation.

I jest… I jest…

… kinda.

Because, when you train in the same place for long enough, you will notice the vast majority of people around you seem to lift the same weights week in, week out, year in, year out.

You will also notice that seldom do they look much different. Neither more muscular nor leaner, regardless of how much time passes.

Don’t get me wrong, they train hard and their bodies reflect that to a certain degree.

But I doubt very much they feel properly rewarded for their efforts.

Something that would most likely not be the case if they were consistently hefting heavier and heavier loads, thereby facilitating their access to more advanced lifting methods, making their cardio more effective (particularly HIIT-style cardio), and, of course, giving them the well-earned ego boost that comes with confidently lifting weights that demand attention.

My point?

If the weight on the bar isn’t going up over time, you’ll very quickly hit a performance ceiling irrespective of the specific “thing” you are training for.

So if you don’t have a way to predictably (insofar as these things can be predicted) raise your one rep max in the core lifts (barbell squats, presses, and pulls), I recommend you go find one.

On that note, I’ve got one right here in the form of “The Six Week Peak”

This eBook was once an integral part of a 6 week coaching package which is no longer for sale.

But it’s such a sleek and simple little system I figured it’d be a shame to let it sit on my hard drive gathering dust.

The price?

£20.

A lot less than a bag of whey protein (apart from those “bargain basement” tubs that will give you diabetes).

And, I daresay, the info inside, properly applied, will do more for your ability to add weight to the bar than circa 50 servings of slimy gunk.

But I am biased.

Whatever.
