Cometh an email from a new reader (who shall remain anonymous):

I’ve finally signed up, just reading the report and you had me screaming YES at the “nice but dim” trainers part.
Every time I’ve signed up for a programme I’ve thought (and I know you will take this in the way it’s intended) “I’m intellectually superior to this person so I cannot take them seriously”. I see through the advice (ESPECIALLY around nutrition, funnily) and just go NOPE.
Which is probably why I always fail to “stay consistent”….

Alas, the fitness industry does not attract the brightest buttons in the box.
Moreover, a lot of trainers don’t really understand people whose lives don’t revolve around the pursuit of fitness because they’ve never been that way or were once fat and out of shape and sorted themselves out, but are yet to grow out of what I call the “ex-smoker” phase.
Most are good people who want to help, of course.
They just don’t have the right solutions to the challenges facing the working person who has obligations to family and a diverse range of interests that don’t involve the gym.
By contrast, I do.
Naturally, my assessment is hopelessly biased, so I encourage you to do your due diligence by consuming some of the (over 300) articles on my site, listening to my podcast (available on YouTube only), and, at the bare minimum, carefully examining the below-linked sales page for my programme.
Fair warning: There’s a lot of text and not many pictures, so if you can’t get through it because you feel it’s too long, don’t enjoy my writing style, or identify as “neurospicy” because you’ve watched too many TikToks and now struggle to concentrate for more than a couple of minutes, the offer is not for you.
