My most important training teaching

Some free value for you.

The most important lesson I teach is the following:

“The only way to get and, most importantly, keep results from training is to stop seeing training as a hobby and start treating it like a second job”.

It’s a tough teaching, that’s for sure.

Because, for many men, training is their main and, sometimes, only form of recreation.

It’s something they use to let off steam, an opportunity to spend time with their mates, and so on.

All of that is fine, by the way.

However, these cannot be the *main* reason you drag your bottom to the gym or out for a run.

If they are, I promise you the half-finished mug of lukewarm coffee sitting on my desk you’ll fall off the wagon and lose whatever results you’ve hitherto worked so very hard to gain.

How do I know?

A decade and a half of experience, mainly.

But I’ve a more robust justification for those who want a little more than “because I say so”.

Here it is:

When you see training as something you do for fun, it inevitably colours your entire attitude and approach. Specifically, you will choose activities and exercises based on how much you like them, rather than the impact they’ll have on moving you towards your goals.

More:

If your wife/girlfriend sees training as your hobby (and she will – if you do), she’ll inevitably ask you to drop it in favour of other things. Housework, running the kids to and fro, walking the dog, “family time”. Vital tasks one and all, but no less important than you taking decisive, diligent action to get fit and safeguard your health for decades to come.

More:

From time to time, you will get busy. And, when you do, training will be one of, if not the first thing you jettison to compensate.

Even if I’m a little off on the specifics, I’m sure you can remember a time when “something” caused you to stop training as much or altogether that probably wouldn’t have done if you saw it as a “need to have” rather than a “nice to have”.

In any case, if you’re not prepared to accept what I’ve just said as truth and act accordingly, you’re going to struggle long-term, which I believe is a crying shame.

On the other hand, if you’re ready to make training a fixed, firm part of your life – not only for your own sake but for the sake of your family, you will benefit greatly from my latest book, “The Constance Chronicles”.

Preorder before tonight (15/3) at midnight (around three hours from now) to get 50% off.
