Mohawks and perpetually outraged victims

A few days ago, there was a picture doing the rounds on X/Twitter of a police officer with a scraggly beard and – I kid ye not –  a towering mohawk.

Apparently, the source was a recent episode of “24 Hours in Police Custody”, but I can’t verify that as I don’t watch television.

My first thought on seeing this bastion of law and order was how funny it is that many boys and girls in blue wonder why the public doesn’t take them seriously anymore. (A quick browse of the subreddit r/policeuk reveals innumerable examples of grumpy and disaffected police officers bemoaning the lack of respect shown to them personally, and the police as an entity).

This was a view shared by most, at least if the comments section was anything to go by. However, the occasional leftist did manage to put their soy latte down for long enough to say how “mean” it is to “judge” people on their appearance, and how expecting a certain standard of dress is, quite literally, discrimination.

By that logic, I suppose expecting a basic level of personal hygiene is also an intolerable act of discrimination against those who can’t be bothered to have a wash.

Believe it or not, the reactions to this social media post can teach us much – if we have ears to hear it.

You see, it neatly demonstrates the two main ways people understand the world around them and their place in it.

On the one hand, you have people who think society needs to change to accommodate their needs and desires.

On the other hand, you have people who think the individual needs to change to get what they want.

In the realm of fitness, the former camp is populated by people who want Daddy Government to solve their problems with “sin taxes” on unhealthy products and banning adverts that make them feel bad about how fat they are. (Remember the “Are you beach body ready?” ad by Protein World that got banned back in 2015 because it upset some ladies who don’t look good in a bikini and their soyboy enablers?).

Personally, I can’t see why anyone would want to go through life as a perpetually outraged victim who believes they’re incapable of doing anything to improve their circumstances, but I know mine is an increasingly fringe perspective.

Whatever.

I think what I’m getting at here is obvious, so I won’t patronise you by spelling it out.

However, I will tell you that if you’re serious about building a powerful physique, living a happier, healthier life, and, ultimately, becoming the man your family deserves, you’d do well to set some time aside to read the information I’ve linked below and consider subscribing to The Phil Tyreman Letter.

I’m not going to sit here and pretend it’s right for you because it probably isn’t.

Butco, for the right people, the impact of a subscription will be profound.
