How to stop programme hopping for better results

So-called “programme hopping” is the source of much frustration and failure.

If you are not aware, it occurs when you bounce from training routine to training routine – sometimes seeing a programme through to the end, but mostly not.

Rarely does it ever result in much improvement on the physique and performance fronts. And, even when it does, those results seldom stick for more than a few months.

‘Tis a big problem, that is for sure.

What to do?

Well, that depends on why it is happening.

If you are programme hopping because your attention span is roughly that of a TikTok, there is nothing at all that can be done. At least, there is no solution that I know of in my role as a personal trainer. A clinical psychologist may be able to offer some assistance, but you’d have to find and pay a reputable one to know for certain either way.

If it’s because you’re struggling to complete programmes, perhaps due to work and/or family demands then you need to learn to write your own.

Why?

A training programme you find online or in a book or one you are given by the “nice but dim” PT at your local gym simply cannot take into account your specific needs.

Particularly the stresses and strains that are part and parcel of working hard and stewarding your family but nevertheless sap your time and energy (physical and mental), meaning your efforts are doomed from the start.

Enter: “Silver Era Secrets”.

This is my three month programme which teaches you how to:

* Write a complete sustainable, safe training routine,

* Modify that routine so you don’t fall off the wagon when “life” happens,

* Pursue new goals without throwing the baby out with the bathwater (no more programme hopping).

The details are linked below.
