How to get your wife/girlfriend into training

Are you frustrated because your wife/girlfriend is fat?

If so, then I’m sorry to tell you, it’s entirely your fault.

Listen: One of the best things about being a man is, where you lead others tend to follow.

So, if your significant other is in poor shape, it’s likely because *you* are in poor shape.

Want that to change?

Get your own house in order.

Start taking your training and diet more seriously, and watch as she does the same.

Easy for me to say – but putting it into practice?

Yeah, not so much.

One of, if not the, biggest obstacle to getting your missus training is her belief that it’s something you do for fun. Or, to put it another way, a hobby.

So, if you treat training like a hobby – i.e. something that’s at the bottom of your priority list and/or that you only do when the mood takes – there is no way on God’s green Earth that she’ll get involved in a meaningful way.

Why would she?

Her rest time is as sacrosanct as yours, and I’m sure she’s got her own stuff she’d rather do than throw weights around or go running.

That’s why you must treat training as a “non-negotiable”. As essential as your job, obligations to your kids (if you have them), and so on.

This means doing it week in, week out without fail – even if you’re on holiday, going through a busy patch at work, and certainly when you don’t particularly feel like it. (Planned rest weeks aside, of course).

It just so happens that this is also the only way to get pronounced and sustainable results, which when your special lady notices (and she will notice), they will give her all the more reason to train hard and eat right.

The best part?

None of this involves any pestering, begging, or arguing.

For example, I’ve not once “told” Jess she should lift and do cardio. She started doing it spontaneously pretty much right after we met, and her interest has increased (and decreased) in lockstep with how seriously I’ve taken it over the years.

And on that note, if you’re serious about building a powerful physique, living a healthier, happier life and, ultimately, becoming the man your family deserves, let’s talk.

My diary is once again open for private calls. (For a limited time).

However, I need to filter those who simply want to pick my large and shapely brain from those who recognise they need help but aren’t sure if I’m the man for the job.

To that end, I charge £150 for an hour.

You’ll get that back if I decide I can’t help you or we agree to work together.

I think this is fair, but only you can decide if that’s the case from your perspective.

If you’d like to talk, reply to this email with your name using the subject line CALL, and I’ll send you an invoice.

Once paid, I’ll send you a link to my calendar wherein you can book a time to suit.

Thank you,

Phil Tyreman
