Are the squat and overhead press, in my opinion.
Specifically when done with a barbell.
I’m less picky about the exact variation (front or back squats, strict or push presses, etc.) because certain people benefit more from some exercises than others due to quirks of biology and simple preference.
But I will not be swayed by FuNcTiOnAl FiTnEsS expurts who claim (wrongly) that these movements are ineffective or even dangerous. (Something they have to do to sell whatever nonsense “method” they’re pushing this week).
Done properly, these moves are fine for those who can perform them with good form without pain.
And those who cannot perform them with good form without pain?
They need to hightail it to a doctor and/or physiotherapist to get a diagnosis of and treatment for whatever is rendering them unable to perform fundamental movement patterns.
Given the above, you won’t be at all surprised to learn that these two lifts feature in the system I will teach you when you join me for “Silver Era Secrets”. (My three-month programme for men who want to get stronger and muscyler without abusing gear or Tee Arr Tee, that also furnishes you with all the info you need to keep improving long after we’ve parted ways).
All the details are below, but please only apply if you are in good health and free from serious injury:
