One problem only you can solve if you have it

A common complaint people (mostly men, believe it or not) come to me with is a lack of motivation.

In a minority of cases, they’ve simply mislabeled a lack of discipline.

Although it feels like a big problem for the one experiencing it, discipline deficits are actually fairly straightforward to remedy with the right structures, methods, and, of course, patience.

However.

There is nothing whatsoever I can do to assist the majority who genuinely struggle to summon the motivation to do something as basic as lift weights a couple of times per week, walk/run/whatever a couple of times per week, and walk every day.

The veritable library of free material on my site, the hours of educational discussions I’ve put on YouTube, the information in these daily emails, and even the books, newsletter, and coaching that I sell – all utterly useless for this group.

I am aware some of my competitors will say that they can help in this regard.

But that is a lie, and all but the thickest among them know as much.

Why?

Issues with motivation are very much a “you” problem stemming from:

1) A mental health condition like depression, anxiety, or PTSD (in which case you need a doctor and/or clinical psychologist or similar, not a personal trainer) or,

2) A physical health condition like arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, or MS that has progressed to the extent it requires supreme willpower to simply complete your activities of daily living (needs a doctor and/or physiotherapist or similar) or,

3) A fundamental character flaw (no shame, we all have them).

More:

Hiring a PT to metaphorically or actually stand over you to make sure you train won’t help you beyond the immediate term because it’s indicative that you’re not in the headspace to actually learn the skills and practice the habits required for long term, sustainable progress. (I.e. what you need to still be training and getting satisfying results from training one, five, ten, twenty, or more years from now.)

Plenty will take your money with a smile on their face to provide a poundshop Mr Motivator come rent-a-friend service, but, alas, not Yours Baldly.

I’ve no qualms admitting there’s nout I can do for you until the underlying cause of the lack of motivation is resolved.

I understand if that’s too much honesty for you to handle.

But if you appreciate my candour and are suitably motivated to do the needful then you might also appreciate the way I operate my three month programme “Silver Era Secrets”.
