Yesterday, I mansplained the importance of having a “baseline routine”.
Today, I shall mansplain some more:
This way of doing things was pretty much the standard back when men (and some women) built strong, fit, and aesthetically pleasing physiques without abusing steroids or other PEDs.
Why?
I’m not entirely certain.
Although I suspect it had a lot to do with the fact that these folk knew what worked and stuck to it because their brains hadn’t been melted by TikTok.
And what worked?
Full body routines (with some specific exceptions).
Principally because they offer the ideal balance of stimulus and recovery for the unsullied body.
What’s more, when set up correctly you can get away with training a lot less than you can with other routines (e.g. bodypart splits). Essential for anyone who is interested in training efficiently and effectively for the long term (i.e. years and decades).
And, of course, they lend themselves well to the subtle yet impactful modifications I mentioned in yesterday’s email and discuss further in my latest book:
“The Muscle and Strength Building Manual for the Natural Trainee: A straightforward guide for those who have made the bold decision to train without using steroids or other PEDs”
The title explains the contents.
It is available very inexpensively through Amazon.
But please only purchase it if you are prepared to put in a lot of work over an extended period of time.
Otherwise your £3.99 is better spent at Costa.
