Confession: I have no interest whatsoever in nutrition.
Moreover, I think a lot of men pay too much attention to their diet resulting in them getting bogged down in minutiae that sap the joy out of training and life generally.
“But Phil, gainz are made in the kitchen!”
Comes the inevitable objection.
It’s a fair point.
But there’s a marked difference between counting calories, weighing food, and tracking your macros (incidentally, all features of an eating disorder) versus consuming mostly sensible amounts of healthy, homecooked food, and getting on with your life.
The latter works just fine for most men who are not high-performing athletes or in need of a special diet due to a health condition, in my experience.
Results (be they muscle growth or fat loss) tend to come more slowly than they do with more “intensive” approaches, but they’re far easier to keep.
(Stick at it long enough, and you’ll find you make the right choices naturally to the point you don’t even think about “eating healthily” because it’s part of the way you live).
Given this, you won’t get many dietary teachings if you decide to work with me. (My “system” for want of a better term is distilled into three short-ish essays towards the end of the Real Paper book you’ll get when you start).
Regardless, what you will get is perfectly sufficient to aid you in your quest to build muscle and strength – the natural way.
And on that point: I’m looking for a handful of men who want to build muscle and strength without inserting needles into their bottoms.
I can’t promise specific results because everybody is different.
To qualify you must be:
1) Male.
2) UK based.
3) Training regularly.
4) Brave enough to admit you don’t know everything.
5) Bold enough to commit to a solution now and not at some indeterminate point in the future.
If that’s you, email with the word TRIGGERED to phil@philtyreman.co.uk, and we’ll take it from there.
Thank you,
Phil Tyreman
