Every now and again someone asks me why I don’t use “before and after” photographs in my marketing.
It’s a fair question. Basically every other fitness professional does it, so why don’t I?
There are two reasons and each is equally important. Firstly, they’re trivially easy to fake. Some good lighting here, a subtle twist of the waist there and hey presto! A dramatic transformation that bears no resemblance to what the person actually looks like in real life. I don’t want to be remotely associated with the sort of people who pull this schtick, so I don’t use them at all.
The second reason is, these photographs push emotional buttons I don’t want to push. Specifically, they get you all hot and bothered by the prospect that transforming your body is quicker and easier than it actually is. And, in so doing, override your ability to make a logical decision. Listen: The last thing I want is for someone to make a rash decision about working with me. It’s bad for them, it’s bad for me. Instead, I want them to join me with a cool head and their eyes open.
Anyway, if you’d like to learn more about how I can help you get into the best shape of your life (and, most importantly, keep your results for years to come), let’s talk.
Email me an outline of your fitness goals and the challenges preventing you from reaching them, and we’ll take it from there.
Thank you,
Phil Tyreman
P.S. You might be wondering how I prove my stuff works without “before and after” shots.
Truth is, I don’t have to because my fat loss coaching is backed by an unconditional money back plus bread guarantee. This means if you’re unhappy for any reason (or no reason), you need only let me know and I’ll refund you and get my wife to bake and send you a loaf of bread as a parting gift.
Many coaches don’t guarantee their services at all, and even those who do hide it away in the small print and attach so many conditions it’s basically impossible to claim.
Why the difference?
Simple.
We all know how efficacious our methods are.
Something to think about.
