35 is the new 70

I’ve long known my current way of eating (meat and veg only twice or thrice daily with the occasional “carb up” meal) is the most efficient and effective way for me to go.

However, it’s only been fairly recently that I’ve gone “all in” on this approach, instead opting for a fairly “normal” (albeit clean) diet, mostly because I was worried about the cost of meat, fish, chicken, and eggs.

I’m not poor or anything, so it’s not that I couldn’t afford it. I suppose I just didn’t want to afford it, and, indeed, didn’t need to afford it because I was able to stay relatively lean and perform adequately well despite eating a diet I knew was suboptimal for both of those aims.

So what changed?

In a word: Age.

This month, I will be 35 years old. Not “old” by any stretch of the imagination, but certainly middle aged, considering males in my family have a nasty habit of croaking in their mid-late 60s (even healthy ones like my grandfather who ran and did bodyweight training almost right up until the end).

It’s something I’m beginning to feel not only in my ability (or lack thereof) to keep my belly at bay but also in how the weights feel heavier, the runs more uncomfortable, and my ability to recover from both diminishing almost by the month.

Hence, I can no longer afford NOT to eat in the way I know (and have known for literally years at this point) is right for me.

The net result has been precisely as expected. I’m leaner, find my workouts easier, and am struggling with fewer aches and pains – all within weeks of biting the bullet and ponying up for better quality food.

Obviously, I cannot help you with your diet because I am not a registered dietitian. Although I can absolutely sort you out on the training front to achieve similar, but only if you are ready to decide you can no longer afford to continue along your current trajectory.

If that’s the case, we can talk.

All you need to do is visit the below URL, scroll down to find my calendar, and select a time to suit. Then, we’ll have a conversation about where you’re at and what you want, then I’ll give you some pointers to get you moving in the right direction.

There’s also a short eBook to claim (or reclaim) waiting for you at the link:
