11 pieces of advice to prevent needless stress and strife

Behold 11 pieces of advice I would give any person who wants to prevent needless stress and strife suffered in the pursuit of getting strong and in shape:

1) Don’t move on from full body workouts until you’ve been training for at least five years,

2) Starting today, get into the habit of taking a walk every day without fail (including weekends, Christmas, and your birthday) for at least 30 minutes but ideally an hour or more,

3) Tying your self-worth to your barbell back squat one rep max will almost certainly result in a debilitating spinal injury that will take many years to fully recover from,

4) Using a weightlifting belt as a sticking plaster for the aforementioned spinal injury is a bad idea,

5) Anabolic steroid abuse (including TRT misuse) is everywhere, most people are lying about their habit, and the combined impact of this has irreparably polluted not only your perception of what is and is not possible for a natural lifter, but also the discourse around what training methods are sane, sensible, and sustainable,

6) For the best balance of strength, aesthetics, endurance, and vitality, learn about, adapt, and apply the methods and techniques used by bodybuilders between 1940 and 1959,

7) Cardio won’t “kill your gainz”; this is a bankrupt justification for laziness – and you know it,

8) You have to earn the right to do HIIT-style cardio (and you earn that right by running and cycling a great many boring, uncomfortable miles over eighteen months to two years),

9) It’s not big or clever to skip your warmup and/or cooldown,

10) Resistance machines fill a vital niche in your training, but only when you have developed the frightening degree of mind-muscle connection required to use them correctly,

11) Getting your spouse and kid(s) (if applicable) into training is a simple matter of them observing you treating it as a “non-negotiable” on par with work.

There are plenty more lessons in my shiny bald head, but that will do for now.

For specific, definitive, and personal teachings to assist you in the noble pursuit of getting strong and in shape, you will need to become my client.

To that end, I have decided to open up my diary for calls with people who are interested in learning more about working with me.

For the avoidance of doubt, ours will be a sales call with the sole objective of discovering if my methods and approach are suitable for your needs and aspirations.

If that is acceptable to you, book below:
