A more straightforward way to set personal bests, you will struggle to find (in my biased opinion).
Even better: This little eBook is designed to be read in one sitting, so you can read it today and potentially start getting stronger as soon as tomorrow.
If you’re fed up with spinning your wheels and want to finally get the tools to set PBs in your big barbell lifts pretty much on command, continue reading.
I have invented a clever system called:
But before I tell you what it’s all about, it’s important to explain why it’s even necessary to begin with. So here is a list of seven reasons to invest a month and a bit of focused training in pursuing one or more personal bests:
Those are my 7 reasons.
But before you get too excited at the prospect of modest but sustainable strength gains, I need to pull the pin on a handful of grenades that represent the most common reasons NOT to move forward with this:
Grenades popped, it’s time for:
The Six Week Peak is a short (26 page) eBook containing, as the name suggests, a six week training programme.
Its sole aim is to get you a nice little PB in one or more of the core barbell lifts. Specifically, up to one each of the:
Whichever lift you choose, you will aim for a small (circa 2.5kg) personal best. It has to be this way not only to give your the best possible chance of success but also to mitigate the risk of injury insofar as is possible (you can never eliminate the chance entirely because lifting maximal and near-maximal loads is an inherently risky endeavour).
The programme itself is straightforward and easy to follow. There are some calculations involved to work out the weights you need to lift in each workout, but the maths is so simple even I can do it using the calculator on my phone. (In fact, there is so little maths involved, I often crunch the numbers when I arrive at the gym.)
Moreover, the programme is flexible with multiple ways to run it depending on whether you want to lift two, three, or four times weekly. All variations include assistance work and conditioning to promote the development of a healthy, well-balanced body.
That just about covers it, so here’s the deal:

P.S. Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions for those who would like more information:
Question: What support will you give me?
Answer: None. It’s an eBook, not a coaching service.
Question: How large will the PB(s) be?
Answer: Not very. The programme is designed to get you a 2.5kg bump to whatever main lifts you run using the system — with some scope to go a smidgen beyond that if you feel moved and are properly ready to do so.
Question: How flexible is the programme?
Answer: More than most similar offerings, in my experience. I actually designed The Six Week Peak with the person who has many commitments outside of the gym in mind, so there are plenty of ways to run it alongside even the most hectic of schedules.
Question: Why are there no testimonials on this page?
Answer: What someone else achieved cannot be used as a meaningful example of what you will achieve. Not including testimonials ensures your decision is based purely on what’s involved in the programme and what you believe you personally stand to gain from it.
Question: Can I use this to peak for a powerlifting meet?
Answer: You can, but there are certainly better options on the market for this specific purpose (I am happy to point you in the direction of them if you email me).
Question: I have a question you have not yet answered, where can I get more information?
Answer: Email me directly and I will respond promptly to help you out. My address is phil at philtyreman dot co dot uk.
