Nosey personal trainer asks...

"What's your plan for the next six months?"

If your answer is “I don’t have one”, continue reading…

Have you ever heard the saying?

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail”

Listen: This is one of those lines people throw out as a retroactive justification for poor decisions that keep them stuck.

By that I mean…

They charge ahead on a “quick fix” plan or sometimes with no plan at all and then when they inevitably get burned out and hurt, blame a lack of proper preparation rather than the true problem.

Namely: Their entire approach to training is…

Dead Wrong!

Fundamentally, they believe, at least to some extent, that it’s possible to get strong and in shape quickly using the flashy methods promoted by fitness influencers with lots of followers and a drug problem.

Moreover, bountiful experience tells me even otherwise disciplined and hardworking trainees are not immune, leading them to:

  • “Go through the motions” and slog away for months at a time with nothing to show for their efforts, or,
  • Worse, bump up against a diamond-plated plateau… push too hard, too fast in an attempt to overcome it… and get hurt.

If you don’t want either of these things to happen to you, then you will need a straightforward, sensible plan that’s big on the basics and geared towards giving you modest yet steady gains with minimum fuss or hassle.

And if that sounds appealing, my biased recommendation is that you purchase a:

Private Planning Session and Personal Report

Here’s how it works:

  • We will sit down and have a Private Planning Session consisting of a one hour video or telephone call (your choice) to establish what you want to achieve in the next six months and formulate the best route to get there — nominally 60 minutes but it takes as long as it takes.
  • Afterwards, I will collate my findings into your Personal Report containing a suite of tactics and recommendations to aid in the pursuit of your goals.
  • This will include training cycles, detailed exercise routines, and other related material appropriate to your needs and aspirations.
  • You will get two versions of the Report. An electronic copy sent via email as soon as I have written it and a physical copy that I will have printed and posted to you (at my expense).

However.

There are three important points to note before you proceed:

  1. There is NO ongoing support. We’ll talk, I’ll put you together something very special, but then you are on your own. So if yours is primarily a motivation or discipline problem, this is not an appropriate solution.
  2. I cannot and do not guarantee any results whatsoever. There is a chance that you may make no progress, even if you follow the instructions in your report perfectly, due to manifold factors beyond my or your control.
  3. There are no refunds beyond what I am obliged to offer by law. But if you’re even thinking about pulling the trigger on your right to request a refund, save us both the hassle by giving this a miss.

The fee this time around is £120.

P.S. Behold a review from a chap who took advantage of this offer (has asked me to keep him anon):

“I recently engaged Phil to write me a programme that will help me focus on building some strength and muscle.

I am a fit and active guy, hitting the gym regularly, playing a lot of football and running frequently.

At 6ft 4, I have often found it hard to build muscle and size in my long limbs – or at least visible gains.  That combined with my frequent cardio means that I have often felt my legs and arms look pretty lanky.

Phil has been my PT of choice as I like the forthright style and no nonsense accountability, It works for me.

For a modest sum, Phil has taken the time to interview me, get to know my situation and build a plan.

I need something fairly specific that fits both my required outcome, but also the amount of time and frequency that I have to “lift” as I only focus on lifting around 2 hours per week (plus plenty of cardio/team sports).

I have received the programme and am about 3 weeks in.  Time will tell, but there are some specific wins already.  One of them being that I have a structured plan that hits the parts I need to develop, whilst also maintaining areas that I can not let slip (specifically back strength, as I am susceptible to a bad back).  Having a training plan and knowing what I will do really helps me, as I would often wing it.

I walk out the gym feeling I have achieved something and really feel I have worked out.

I can tell strength is building in my arms and legs already and can see some definition building, which is a foundation.

Overall, I am very satisfied and the lovely personal book is a really nice bonus touch.

If you want to build strength, have specific goals, or even are a bit lost in the gym, get Phil to set you straight.

It will work wonders.”

It’s worth remembering that you are not him, so you cannot take anything more than the material particulars as a promise of what you will get.

Moreover, this chap is a hard worker with a great attitude. He takes a “long view” of training, seeing truly stellar results as the product of years and decades of work rather than weeks and months. (This is a prerequisite for enjoying any success whatsoever with my methods.)
