In as little as three hours per week, you too can enjoy steady gains in strength, muscle, and cardiovascular fitness. My methods are safe, specially chosen for their exceptionally low injury risk, allowing you to train consistently, without unplanned downtime due to pain or burnout. This means your results will compound over time.
You’re getting a complete system. Everything you need to do (and not do) is laid out in three Real Paper handbooks. Believe it or not, the hardest part about my system is resisting the urge to “add” stuff!
It all started with a thought experiment…
At the time, I was very stressed. Jess had not long given birth to our son, Marcus. We also had a three year old daughter… and… I was working all the hours under the sun to provide for them.
On top of that, I had been training week in, week out, without fail (planned breaks aside) for over a decade.
I was aching, exhausted, and hadn’t seen meaningful progress this side of 2020, despite hitting the gym religiously and doing everything “right”.
If anything, training was making my situation worse!
How so?
All the training I was doing meant I needed to eat a lot, but because I was so tired I couldn’t train very hard.
The result?
A death spiral of fatigue and weight gain that had me feeling utterly miserable.
I’m not being hyperbolic when I say I was ashamed of the body I saw in the mirror.
Actually, I was so embarrassed by how I looked, when Jess and I went to Butlin’s for a family break, I refused point-blank to go swimming with her and the kids.
Instead, I hid in the apartment like loser claiming I had “work” to do, leaving my wife to marshal two very small children alone.
Jess forgave me. But I have yet to forgive myself for depriving my daughter (who was three) of the chance to play with her daddy in the pool.
She begged me to go, but I couldn’t face others seeing what a fat mess I had become.
It was all of this that prompted the thought experiment I mentioned a moment ago.
And the answer?
Plus a short daily walk.
Altogether, that’s about three hours of training. Potentially less, if you are efficient with your work in the weightroom (I’ve gotten it down as low as two and a half hours).
Walking does not count as training because it’s something you should be doing anyway. Like brushing your teeth or properly wiping your backside after a number two. And, in any case, most only need a little “top up”.
Now, I have tried two day per week lifting regimes in the past, but never successfully.
Why?
Two reasons:
In other words…
Hence, my efforts were fruitless and I reverted to the “conventional” three, four, and five day routines I’d always done (which are great, when you are young, free, and single — not so much when you’ve a family you want to spend time with and all the responsibilities that come with it).
This time was different.
This time I only chose the most productive movements.
Every exercise had to serve a specific purpose. If it didn’t it was cut.
The result was a lean routine that produces steady and reliable gains in strength and muscle even the slowest trainee can complete around an hour, so long as they put in a modicum of effort.
Next came cardio.
Now I have a confession to make:
Cardio and I do not get along!
Never have, and probably never will.
Regardless of that, it needs to be done for all sorts of reasons:
Yet, even though I have always known all of this, I never actually took it seriously until I cut my lifting frequency to just two sessions per week.
Why?
What little time and energy I had was spent on lifting, leaving nothing to spare for this essential part of the fitness equation.
The sad part is, I have always struggled with my weight, and I’d try all sorts of stupid diets to get it under control (including one that very nearly made me blind in one eye!).
Years upon years I’d been dieting my backside off to get lean, sometimes getting almost “there” only to trip up and undo weeks or months worth of progress.
Now?
And… I am leaner than I have ever been.
All because I do my damn cardio with discipline and intent.
More:
I’m strong.
Not as strong as I was at my “peak”, but still plenty strong enough to shift respectable loads. Only now, because my training is so well-balanced, I am doing it without the joint pains that bedeviled me during my prime years.
Honestly, I don’t expect you to believe this. It truly has to be felt to be believed. But, I swear to you this is how it is for me and also for past clients who have patiently followed the programme as presented for long enough to see meaningful results emerge.
Speaking of the programme…
It is called:
It’s for men and women who would like a simple, dependable system for creating training programmes that slot in neatly alongside their commitments to family and work.
But before I share the details, take note of the following:
Other than the 14 day, unconditional 100% money-back guarantee I am obliged to offer to comply with the law.
So.
If any of the above gives you even a moment’s pause, I can tell you with considerable confidence that this is NOT the programme for you.
On the other hand, if you’re willing and able to do the work…
You will get three Real Paper handbooks explaining how to write your own sustainable, safe training programmes.
Inside, you will discover time-tested methods for getting strong and in shape naturally. (That is, without steroids or weight loss drugs).
Remember: This is a system that is designed for people who find themselves dragged from pillar to post by their obligations to work and family.
It is certainly not the fastest route to results and you are highly unlikely to experience a dramatic “transformation” any time soon.
However.
If you are interested in a sustainable approach, where you build up slowly, brick by brick to create results that will survive whatever storms “life” throws at you, my methods may be just what you are looking for.
But to make sure, here is a chronological breakdown of exactly what you will learn, starting with:
This handbook shows you how to write an easy-to-follow training programme for getting strong and in shape.
Here are the full details:
This handbook explains how to modify your programme to overcome the manifold and wonderful challenges life throws in your direction.
Here’s a complete summary:
So far, so comprehensive.
But we’re not done yet, here’s what awaits you in…
This handbook shows you how to seamlessly adapt your training to pursue new goals, so you never again lose your results by changing too much, too soon.
Here’s everything you’ll find inside:
Those are the handbooks.
Combined, they contain a complete system that, applied correctly, will not only get you stronger, into better shape, and more aesthetically pleasing in general but will also enable you to comfortably maintain your results…
Imagine, no more grinding away only for things to go pear shaped and land you right back where you started with a thump.
Actually, there’s no need for imagination because this could be your reality if you decide to pull the trigger and, of course, put the work in.
Alright, that’s everything.
The fee is £300.
All three Handbooks will be delivered to you at once, although, for best results, I recommend you work through one a month for the next three months.
You do have a right to request a refund within 14 days because it’s the law. But if you’re thinking you might avail yourself of this right then please save us both the stress by giving this a miss.
Click the green button below to go to my secure checkout page.
Once there, read the terms and conditions carefully and, if you would like to proceed, enter your payment information.
I’ll then post you your handbooks at the first available opportunity.

Should an answer to your question still not be forthcoming, use the contact form (underneath the FAQ) to send me a message.
I usually respond via email within a few hours, but never more than 24 hours in any case.
If it’s been more than 24 hours and you can’t see my reply, check your spam and/or promotions folders. My email will be in one of them.
Ideally, you’ll finish the programme stronger and more muscular than you were when you embarked upon it.
Moreover, while this is not a “fat loss” programme, those who pay a modicum of attention to their diet can find themselves a little leaner as well.
Yes, I know it’s not possible to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time which is why I’m not saying that’s what will happen.
Skinny guys tend to look leaner when they put on muscle and fat guys tend to drop fat when they train hard and *gasp* do their damn cardio.
Bottom line: You don’t walk around with a cardboard placard over your head proclaiming your body fat percentage, weight, and so on.
So what does it matter if it appears you’ve gained muscle and lost fat, even if that’s not technically what has happened?
Exactly.
None of this is to say you will get any results at all.
I cannot and therefore will not promise any specific outcomes because there are too many variables at play.
If that reality check has put you off then I recommend you spend your money with any one of the innumerable nonsense-churners who is comfortable with making you promises they know full well they cannot keep.
No.
They’re only available on Real Paper because it’s the best way for you to consume and retain the information.
Aside from a few “non-negotiables” there is plenty of room for choice.
That said, if you struggle to follow instructions are are wedded to doing things Your Way then you should give this offer a miss.
For best results, you will need access to a squat rack and olympic bar.
Unless you are fortunate enough to have a sizeable home gym, this requires a gym membership.
However.
You can do the programme at home with very little equipment. Past clients have enjoyed success by doing it using a mixture of dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, and their own bodyweight.
Although, in this scenario, what tends to happen is people start at home then, once comfortable, take the bold step of joining their local gym to accelerate their progress.
Not really, no.
I find few things more tiresome than diddling with dietary minutiae and, in any case, I am not qualified to give prescriptive advice in this arena because I am not a registered dietitian.
No.
The programme includes clear instructions on how to write your own using my methods.
Those who are already strong and in shape can potentially benefit from a “back to basics” approach.
That said, if you are thoroughly convinced that you’re the second coming of Roger Bannister or Jón Páll Sigmarsson, my programme isn’t for you.
Maybe.
Please use the form below this FAQ to send me a message explaining your situation, and I’ll let you know if I think this is right for you (or not).
Tell me any time between ordering and 14 days after receiving your Handbooks and I will refund you immediately.
After that, there are no refunds.
Use the form below and I shall get back to you promptly via email (usually within 24 hours but never more than 48 hours in any case).
These are all anonymous but all of the below individuals had suitably grave reasons for keeping their identities hidden:
“I have been working with Phil as a paying customer since the beginning of April 2025, but have been following his emails for much longer, applying his free advice to my workouts and lifestyle, leading to the most consistent progress I have ever made on my fitness journey.
I have always been of a more porcine disposition, and a number of years ago I completed a ’12 week transformation course’ with result’s that didn’t last much longer than the end of week 12. This was partly due to my lack of discipline, but also due to the fact that the program relied on extreme measures to produce rapid results, making it completely unsustainable in the long run.
In contrast, Phil’s advice, even in his free daily emails, is to take the slow and steady approach that can be replicated day after day, year after year resulting in sustainable long term results. This has completely changed the way that I approach my fitness goals, and life in general. It’s no longer about chasing short term wins or instant fixes. I’ve developed consistent habits that fit into my lifestyle, and most importantly a mindset change that even if I do miss a workout or have a heavy weekend, it doesn’t spiral out of control as it would have done previously in my life, resulting in me completely giving up and having to start at the beginning again after a few months of living like a degenerate. For the first time in my life, fitness isn’t a temporary chore until I get the results I need, it’s a part of my life (dare I say, an enjoyable part) that I know will continue for many years to come, thanks to Phil’s sensible and consistent guidance.”

“Phil gave me a rock solid foundational way of understanding physical training that has enabled me to navigate the ascent and plateaus of continuing to heal from this back injury. I’ve since managed to spot when it’s getting tired and tight based on Phil’s advice which is “go see a medical professional” which I wasn’t doing before so thank you Phil for that.
I wasn’t going to see them when it got tight, I was going when it broke and actually just keeping the shape of Phil’s programme and principles allowed me to deload without anxiety and not lose my gains. And I could basically rest better for two, three weeks while the niggle recovered, work with my sports therapist and get back to lifting.
To the point where, just an example and this is just me, I am now consistently able to overhead press one twenty kilogram kettlebell above my head for five reps on each arm which is something I couldn’t do last year, which I’ve been able to do in the past, because my back wouldn’t support my upper body in that way. So I’m still on a journey but this is just my way of saying thank you to Phil.
Thanks Phil.”

“Gym progress feels great – moved to 3 sets of Squats/deads last week so have now done this for two sessions. Strength gains have been felt naturally across a few lifts in the past couple of weeks, and I now feel as though my ‘foundational muscles’ relating to Squat/Dead are now solid enough that I can consistently increase the weight (ie. I feel sort of out the beginner stage where I really need to take it easy on squats/deads to protect my body). I am getting some small gains muscle wise and feel I’ve turned a small corner.”
— Marketing Agency Managing Director
“I recently engaged Phil to write me a programme that will help me focus on building some strength and muscle.
I am a fit and active guy, hitting the gym regularly, playing a lot of football and running frequently.
At 6ft 4, I have often found it hard to build muscle and size in my long limbs – or at least visible gains. That combined with my frequent cardio means that I have often felt my legs and arms look pretty lanky.
Phil has been my PT of choice as I like the forthright style and no nonsense accountability, It works for me.
For a modest sum, Phil has taken the time to interview me, get to know my situation and build a plan.
I need something fairly specific that fits both my required outcome, but also the amount of time and frequency that I have to “lift” as I only focus on lifting around 2 hours per week (plus plenty of cardio/team sports).
I have received the programme and am about 3 weeks in. Time will tell, but there are some specific wins already. One of them being that I have a structured plan that hits the parts I need to develop, whilst also maintaining areas that I can not let slip (specifically back strength, as I am susceptible to a bad back). Having a training plan and knowing what I will do really helps me, as I would often wing it.
I walk out the gym feeling I have achieved something and really feel I have worked out.
I can tell strength is building in my arms and legs already and can see some definition building, which is a foundation.
Overall, I am very satisfied and the lovely personal book is a really nice bonus touch.
If you want to build strength, have specific goals, or even are a bit lost in the gym, get Phil to set you straight.
It will work wonders.”

“Phil supported me with some personal training support, a three month course, “Silver Era Secrets” back in summer of 2024, which is a while ago actually, but I’ve been using his principles for the last two years.
At the time I’d really injured my back through various things, mainly overdoing it and not training sustainably alongside martial arts, a very busy job running a business, and other stuff like playing with my kids in the garden. I’d seen a sports therapist who had remedied the immediate issues with my back but he recommended I see a personal trainer as well who could help me train more sustainably.
I liked Phil’s comms. It wasn’t like he was trying to reinvent the wheel and he sounded like he had something sustainable and workable for parents. And sure enough it was.
Phil’s system is brilliant. I have for the last almost two years – twenty months – I have followed his system of two relatively lean full body weights sessions and two cardio sessions and rest weeks every eight to twelve weeks. I’ve also followed his principles to rewrite my programme several times.
I’ve seen probably more consistent gains in the last twenty months than I’ve ever seen before. And most importantly I haven’t seriously injured myself. Before that, I’ve never managed to go more than a year without tweaking something. I kept pulling my back and my shoulder all the time and it was basically just overtraining. I used to train four days a week and since I’ve dialled up my sleep, dialled in my nutrition, that has made a massive difference alongside Phil’s system. Phil’s system has given me the space to do the other bits that my body needed which was sleep and nutrition.
I like how the training doesn’t take over my life. I like to train, I really enjoy it, but I’ve got a really busy family life – I’ve got seven kids – I run a business, so I don’t have time to make it my hobby. It needs to be something that adds value to my life and Phil’s system definitely does that.
If you are a busy parent, if you’ve got kids , if you’re busy running a business, if you’ve got a high pressure job and you need something that will help you train sustainably and avoid injury; obviously there are no guarantees because your life is different to mine, but I can absolutely guarantee the principles in Phil’s training will help you do that, and I would highly recommend you seek him out for a personal trainer that will help you be equipped with the tools in your toolbox to train sustainably over time, get gains, and avoid injury.
It’s not that expensive, it’s huge value, and it is definitely better to pay for one of Phil’s programmes than constantly be chucking £60, £70 away on a PT or sports therapist every couple of weeks if you’re knackered, plus all the usual hassle that those injuries bring.”

It goes without saying that you’re not them, so it’s not a given you’ll get what they got (or anything at all for that matter).
I’m just showing this to you so you’ve got some idea of what is possible if we work together.
On that note…
If you’d like to do that, click the button, pay, and we can begin:
Now that you have seen what others have said, I hope you’ll allow me to blow my own trumpet a little…
As well as my “in person” personal training work, I have written something like 18 books on fitness (I forget exactly how many) and publish a monthly Real Paper newsletter (obnoxiously titled, The Phil Tyreman Letter).
I’m not telling you this to brag. OK. Maybe I am a little. But the main reason I’m mentioning my written work is that it shows I possess a broad and deep “training toolbox” you can use to create a programme that’s perfect for your needs and aspirations.
And that’s something you must have if you don’t want training to make your situation worse.
Yes, it’s generally true that doing “something” is better than doing nothing at all.
But the moment you begin to stretch yourself in the pursuit of better results, you are entering dangerous ground.
Alas, being earnest and hardworking is no defence against doing the wrong exercises in the wrong way. You’ll still potentially tear your muscles into crimson chunks and grind your joints to ash the same as someone looking for a “quick fix”.
I’ve seen it happen more times than I care to remember in my sixteen or so years training week in, week out, without fail.
Speaking of my experience, I should probably tell you about my qualifications.
They are very unimpressive.
I have a level three certificate in personal training that I got via a four-week course that was not demanding at all. Quite honestly, I’m convinced anyone who can (just about) write their name could pass it if they wanted to.
Beyond that, I’ve a handful of other certificates. These were even easier to get and are basically worthless, but I did them anyway because they came free with my personal training course.
This means…
I don’t have a degree.
I don’t have publications in prestigous academic journals.
I don’t even have a social media following!
Instead, I prefer to put my work out there and let people judge its worth for themselves.
All right. By now you are thinking I’m either insufferably arrogant or someone you might get along with.
